CASE STUDY

AGENCY: Wizdom Media

BACKGROUND: Wizdom Media is a full-service graphic design agency, founded in New York City. Servicing clients of all sizes from a wide variety of industries, Wizdom Media specializes in print, digital, and event design.

CHALLENGE: Create a new website that reflected the change to Wizdom Media’s brand identity. The darker vibe was now being replaced with a fresh, brighter feel. The request was to develop a website that was fluid and responsive. The goal was to attract decision makers in municipal government and larger corporations. The website would no longer use Flash™, yet still needed to offer a rich interactive experience for the viewer. A separate mobile version of the site would be developed, as parallax technology was not mobile friendly at the time.

PROCESS: To craft a fluid and responsive website, while offering a rich experience, I settled on using parallax scrolling technology. The opportunity to create depth and motion without Flash was intriguing and lended itself to “non layout” type design. Once again, we took photos of items around the office that could be used to create each page’s personality. Then these photos were carefully silhouetted, and group together in layouts based on the content for each page. Stock photography would fill in any gaps. The website would be one long page, broken into various sections, and then be called upon once clicked in the navigation. Technologies used to create this website were HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript.

RESULTS: The website was an instant hit with current and new clients, leading to an increase in website traffic, views, and ultimately new business. The website was submitted to the NJ Ad Club for inclusion in their yearly awards event and won first place in the “Company Website as Self Promotion” category!
